come to think of it... I don't even think he was a old dog

it was extremly hot out, and he had been playing the entire day and was exhausted. I thought he had a certain look to him, like he was on the verge of passing away. (even though he wasn't). I suppose that may sound somewhat mean, or a depressing way of looking at a dog, but it was what made me take the shot.


and besides, I did take one of the little fella happy

I'm not happy with the hot spot on his nose, thats why I posted the other one.

Nice shot, very emotive. Makes you look at him and wonder what he is thinking, whether hes just sitting there reflecting, or thinking what he can eat next!!!

The only thing id change would be the eyes look a little dead, there is only a slight amount of light in them but not enough imho, did you use flash for this at all?

thats for the input dood!
I never used flash, and I was using my telephoto lens so I was rather far away. I agree about the eyes needing a little more "pop" to them.

The B&W is brilliant and striking showing alot of wisdom. The texture of the fur is very pleasant.

i really love that black and white one, and i think the simple frame really really finishes off the photo nicely.

and i agree with doodlebug, it does make you wonder what hes thinking awwe!
