No idea, sorry. I have a modest collection of 1:18 model Oldtimers, which is what Germans call vintage/classic cars, and would really like one like this - perhaps someone else will look in and identify it for us.

By the way I was going to call this Sunday Driver, but then the thought came to me that it was an Oldtimer (German usage) being driven by an oldtimer (American usage), and the Brit in me couldn't resist the pun

I'll also ask my boyfriend later. He's very good - kind of freakishly good - at identifying cars and airplanes.

The boyfriend says it's an NSU Prinz (probably the Prinz 4, designed in the 50s but manufactured in the 60s and early 70s). NSU Motorenwerke was an East German motor company. It's got the engine in the back, and one of the 'tells' are the vents in the back quarterpanel to cool the engine. The vents are visible in your picture.
