Aloha everyone - I have an Olympus E-500, it's a pretty good DSLR, but it's getting pretty old, got it back in the day. Over time, I've noticed I've had difficulty with the focus. Especially in a night setting, my camera refuses to focus on anything, and I can't get it to take a picture. It is on auto focus most of the time, but if it's dark or foggy, you can forget taking a picture. Maybe I'm silly, but I can't get it to focus manually either no matter what I do. I've read the manual to no avail. Help! Thanks
LOL I'm going to try to be as polite as I can You can't take pic's when it's dark or foggy, hummm.... Just what do you expect? It's dark and foggy for crying out loud.. Buy a $5000 Nikon, I hear they can take pic's by candle light, he, he.... Seriously, you probably are shooting with a kit lens too ? You simply are asking too much of the camera. Having said that, you can set the camera to Manual Focus, it will still be tough to focus in the dark though. Read this - wrotniak.net: Olympus E-500, the next generation? And check to see if the shutter priority is on, it won't allow you to take a picture until focus is achieved. Cheers, Don
