What's new

OMG! A Bald Eagle at my house!!

Nice set - don't you just love surprises. We have them around our part of the world all winter even though it gets down to -20° C ± on a more than few days. As long as there are ducks on the river (food), they seem to be okay with the cold. Maybe it will hang around for a few more posing sessions.

Nice! Love the last one.

Looks like my parakeet that got away. Could you catch him and return it to me? He responds to the name Orville.

Thanks so much all!!
I was so excited yesterday I think I rushed to post these, they need a little more attention lol

I`ve been watching for these guys for two years now, there had been reports of them a ways down river so I knew they were around. So far this year I have seen way more raptors than in the past two years :) Hopefully he visits again and often!

they're usually fishing birds, but if fish are hard to come by they'll make use of available sources, you might want to keep pets inside...

Thanks Justin! Our kitties are indoor pets but the feeders attract lots of outdoor critters to the area, we have seen some birds picked off and the evidence of owls taking bunnies and mice in the mornings, it has already been a way more active year with predators (including the coyotes!) most likely because of the bunch of snow we got early.

wow, sounds like you've got an active area!

Yes, we are very lucky with the wildlife :) You know they are there in the summertime, you hear the coyotes, see the raptors fly by etc... but come winter you see the tracks and without leaves on the trees you see the raptors more often, now if it weren`t so darn cold! lol ;)
