One roll, one subject: cacti

[limr47]

On another forum I haunt, we had a challenge to shoot an entire roll of film on just one subject and post our favorite five. When I was in Arizona over my winter break, it wasn't difficult for me to do this. In fact, it was done within an hour on the first day.

The film is Agfa Vista 400, the camera was my trusty K1000. The lens was either a Takumar 38-80mm f3.5 macro, or a 50mm f1.7. Here are my favorite eight:

I like Barbs, Lonely Cactus and Wire a lot, and Mohawk Cactus is pretty good. Most of the others seem to me to have too much in the frame - could just be my close-up detail-oriented worldview I guess. I think Lonely Cactus would look great as a large print - push that grain!

Wire, for some reason, is my fav.

Thanks, boys

All made within an hour, eh? Seems like your shooting was sharp and on-point that day! My favorite is Lonely Cactus, and I also like Barbs, and Mohawk Cactus.

Yeah, well now that that side of you has been exposed, try not to develop a complex about it.
