To my mind, the stamen would have been the most important element to this kind of burst-the-frame flower photo, so I think I would definitely have gone vertical to capture this.
Colours are extremely intense! Whoa.

I think that the stamen in this picture should have been included, like lafoto said. and one other thing to think of is your DOF. Try upping your f-stop ( if you can ) to get the whole flower in sharp focus.
Otherwise, very nice!
