Hello,
I would like to ask your opinion on a frame extracted from a sequence of Apollo 16 (April 1972), shooted with a Maurer Camera with 16mm sensor and 10mm fixed focal length (official NASA data).
I state that we have nothing to do with conspiracy theorists. We are preparing a physics lab for a scientific high school on motion in the lunar environment (no atmosphere and gravity 1/6 of earth).
The frame is the follow:
I need a confirmation of the method to calculate approximately the distance between lens and subject.
Equivalent Focal Length: Focal Length x Equivalent Format Diagonal / Sensor Diagonal = 10 mm x 43.3 mm / 12.70 mm = 34.10 mm
Lens distance = equivalent focal length x known size (wheel diameter) / size on sensor diameter (wheel) = 34.10 mm x 817.88 mm / 1.3 mm = 21,453 mm
Do you think the Vehicle could be 21.4 meters from the camera?
THANK YOU.
