Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello everyone. I'm new in this forum and I decided to create this new thread. I'm not sure if there is any similar thread like this one, but I searched in the forum and I didn't found anything like this one.
I decided to create this, in order to everyone in the forum be capable of try the HDR technique, even those guys like me that do not have a DSLR camera, so they cannot photograph in RAW, nor take different exposure shots.
So the thing is, if anyone haves different exposures of the same photo in the RAW format (that are willing to share here), it would be really nice, cause everyone could give it a try. I saw this in other forums, and it's really cool, because there's a lot of people using the same exposures to generate an HDR file, and the results are so different.

Obviously, if you want to try the photos of other users, you cannot use them for commercial goods (sell it, etc), but if the user agrees, maybe we could publish the results in a webpage like flickr or 500px or whatever.

Thank you guys:thumbup:

Raw image data files cannot be displayed on the Internet.

Yes, you are correct. I didn't explain myself really well. But we can convert the original raw files in tiff files of 8bit or 16bit. This way, we assure that the pictures have the best quality possible to be merged. And you can upload tiff files in the internet.

Thanks for the correction

I don't mean to be mean here, Red_John, but what makes you think that someone would put their work our for "open source" at the suggestion of someone with 4 posts and has their profile as NOT OK to Edit?

You are not being mean. Everybody has their rights to share their thoughts and points of view. This is the first photography forum I join that asked me if my photos were ok to edit. When I red that, I thought it might be referring to personal photos like a profile picture of me or something like that. I never thought it was something else. But thanks for advising me about that.
Also I think that every user here haves some photos that they don't mind to be edited and shared in photostreams (only if the users give credit to the original photographer and don't add their watermarks to the pictures), but there are some other pictures that probably we don't like to be edited. I don't know. Maybe that's just my point of view. But again, that's the first forum I join that makes me that question.

When I created this post I was trying to make it like Herrmann Klaus webpage with pictures to play with, where he gives their RAW files converted to tiff files, so people can learn the HDR Technique.
HDROne does this too. So, I guess that this would be an appropriate topic, because we are in a photography forum.

Thanks again for giving your opinion Ronlane

I know what he is saying, it is a simple concept that they do on other forums, people release their RAW files to whomever wants them on just a basic everyday shot, then everyone has a go at editing them and puts their results up in the same thread. It is quite interesting to see the many different types of processing and results from the same shot.

I would be happy to release s few of my RAW files for this, I'm sure there are a few people on here not up their own arse that would go out and snap a shot for this purpose.

We do that here.... Just search the forum for "HDR Shootouts". Most are posted with JPEGs but some have posted raw files.

Thanks for telling me. I did'nt knew that cause I'm new in the forum. But I made a search and didn't found anything similar. But anyways, an HDR will always be better with raw files. But it's ok with jpegs too. Thanks for telling

Did you use the forum search function? We haven't had one posted for quite a while.
