Maybe I haven't been and maybe I have not been...but either way...no...I'm not Kool 'N the Gang enough...

I prefer the original for the highway overpass photo, and I prefer the edited shot for the paper company truck photo.

My boss likes the edited version of the company truck and said I should make a print and attempt to sell it to them...which was a nice comment as he was in the publishing business for years...

Hellz yeah! Walk in with a poster-sized print all framed and matted and ask $200 for it. Tell 'em how awesome it'd look in the office area. It would look cool there! A sepia-toned "retro-look" framed print might also sell, since the company has been in bid'ness since 1906, and is probably family-owned.

Its only a three hour drive from where I am...most they can say is no thank you and then I have a nice (relatively speaking) photo for my room at home...

I prefer the original for 1st and edited for the 2nd

For #1 I prefer the original. I think it's the color of the bare dirt on the slope in the edited version that doesn't jive for me. This editing style doesn't do much for me personally anyway, though when I block that dirt the rest of the image seems cohesive and I could get on board with the style.

For #2 I also like the edited version. I'm not sure I'd say I like it better than the original; it's been edited to give it such a different feel that I'm not sure we're talking apples-to-apples here. I second the motion to take a stab at an even more retro edit (desaturation, sepia, whatever works for you and this image). If you're going that far, you might as well try cloning out the car in the bottom right and the telephone pole and wires - the 18-wheeler can pass as more timeless than the sedan.

I like the original of both images, however I also like the edit for the second photo. On my computer it has an old post card feel to it that really appeals to me.

Well, if I wait for 50 years, without cloning the car out, it will still have an old feel to it, for at that point, it WILL be old...thank you for the comments and suggestions, much appreciated as always...

I like the original more on both, although I do like the effect on the second picture edit, just not so much on this picture. OnOne phototools has a similar effect/action called "Orton Hears a Who". I have used it on portraits a few times and it gives a really nice soft focus and heavy saturation effect. I also wish that blue car wasn't parked next to the truck.

I can clone that car out super easy...its the poles and lines that will be troubling...
