This was my first RAW edit. So I may have gone OTT.

Also, is it better to straighten the lamp post, or the building... or neither?

I like it, can you brighten the sky a little? Maybe bump the blue a tad? It looks like an overcast day to me.

There appears to be a magenta cast going on.

Some would say to straighten the building.

It's best to straighten them both. You do have tone response and color problems, and the hand work shows too much. If you make the raw file available, be happy to help.

In my opinion i would eliminate the lamp post from the photo and put the focus on the building.

Jamie, here is what I did. Using LR4, Exposure +.36, Contrast +29, Shadows +36, Whites -2, Blacks +7, Clarity +60, Vibrance +43, Tone Curve - a little S with darks up and highlights down, Luminance: Blue -17, Purple -1, Magenta -14.

Just practicing. Played with the contrast and levels a bit. First quick selection on the building and then inverted the selected and also played with the vibrance.

Thanks guys - gave me a lot to think about! Especially with straightening both building and lamp-post - I've not done that much editing before besides a few dodge and burns - but I 'll get there
