Painted Lady (Butterfly)

Wish I hadn't shot these so tight, but oh well. Might give it another try tonight if he's still around. I am really finding that the 180mm + 1.4TC (252mm) is longer than I like for butterflies. I was a good 4 feet away on these which makes lighting pretty tough with the flash.

Thanks...no entomologist, but I sure wish. I didn't have much interest in insects until maybe a year or two ago. I am graduating to teach elementary school and will be teaching this time next year.....I know 3rd grade does units on insects and am hoping that I'll be able to use some of my photography and knowledge in the classroom.
