Panasonic FH20 Ac Adapter hole.. empty?

I bought this digital camera a few months ago and only used it to take photos occasionally . I've been using it to record lately though, and the batery doesnt last much, so I read the manual looking for some kind of AC adapter and indeed found that it's suggested to use one when recording (duh).

So I go to the bottom of the camera where there's a small lid next to the batery and memory compartment and open it hoping to see where the AC adapter would be plugged into, but instead, there's nothing. It's empty, I can touch the batery through it. Am I missing something? I've looked around and found nothing.
