How am I doing so far? Are the contrast, saturation, and composition okay? What is more do I need to do?

Nice colors.....In my humble opinion I would crop a little from the bottom, select the background and then turn down the saturation and turn down the contrast and then select and brighten up the Parrot. It will really pop if you do that.

A very nice composition. I do agree with Greybeard that a small bottom crop would really help. Love the one foot up in the air holding something. Really adds interest.
