I am an aircraft inspector for a charter airline. We operate our own planes and 2 for the New England Patriots. They decided to paint one of the planes last month and I was the inspector on it. Unfortunately the graphics supplier could not get material from 3M quick enough so it left the paint shop without the Team logos and what not. This is the final product after the graphics were applied.

The other side today. Polishing the "brightwork" for the upcoming season. The paint and graphics are new. The back up plane is still in the old livery, and will probably stay the same till the end of the season.

I’m interested in the other part of your job ? 😎🍻

Just curious, why do you need to inspect a pint work?
Quality of the paint job itself, there are probably 50 placards that are required to be on the outside. There are also other markings that have to be in exact positions. We also did a full strip on this plane so there are several processes that have to be done correctly in order, before paint can go on. Then you have make sure the actual location of color changes are in the right place, like the red curves. Then when all done the plane has to be weighed and I calculate the new empty weight and balance. If I member right due to the strip, the plane lost like 800 pounds.

That's the boring part mostly paperwork. Do have to watch certain maintenance work that are considered critical. The one thing I do kinda photo / video related is boroscoping engines. We video of the whole scope, and take pictures of the inside as well.

FAA regs are surreal which is a good thing. Flying somewhere once, the cockpit reported a burnt out light on the dash. Took 3 guys to replace it before we could take off. One to change the lamp, one to inspect the work and the 3rd to sign off for FFA.

I was just one guy doing the work. The other two were "keeping busy".:lol:
