PC with not open memory card

If formatted in my D750, My pc - windows does not recognize of open it. If formatted in my pc, it will open the card after shooting.
I must be missing something here. Any advice?

I can read mine that were formatted in the D40 - Windows 8, 8.1 & 10. Do you have access to a Mac or Linux box? If so, try to read a camera-formatted card on that. If you can read the card there, see what the formatting 'type" is, then start looking through the Windows disk settings.

If I understand - you said. If formatted in camera the pc can't read but if formatted in the pc the camera can read and store picture on it. Did you format in camera and then put photos on the card and then try to read in the pc?
Perhaps the format in camera didn't happen or work?

What version of Windows?
What software do you use?

This is what I've learned.
You need to format the SD cards every so often in the camera.

I ran across an issue where I stopped always formatting the card in the camera.
Then my computer would not access the card when directly inserted.
And the computer could not copy the pics using the cable attached to the camera.
I ended up using my other camera to transfer the files.
Then promptly formatted the card and I keep formatting it every so often and haven't had the problem since.
