The rule of thirds is what got me in trouble lol! I was trying to place the eye using rule of thirds and wasn't paying close enough attention to the rest. Still getting up to speed, I appreciate all the expertise here.What Lez said about the space in front (the 3rds rule) but other than that it's a real nice pic of a pelican in flight. I love them because they have so much contrasting detail in their feathers. When they're in focus they look awesome and yours looks awesome.

I mostly go by the body but I do pay attention to where the eye and head are so as to give enough room above or in front of them.Thanks all!
