By the way, the link in your first post changed from the orange model to the yellow model. Which one did you get?

I got the orange one. Should arrive tomorrow.

Out. For. Delivery. My 3 favorite words.

NICE! Which model is that? Do you love it?

Do you have a preference for the adjustable dividers as oppose to the removable foam?

That's a good question. I didn't like the way the removable foam looked, so I got one with the dividers. But I do wonder what others think about this that own one.

I've got the 1450 Orange with foam. I only use it kayaking so to the person saying why get bright Orange? It can be seen much easier floating down the river. (Not that this is likely to happen as I have it strapped to the kayak). As far as foam/padding, the padding would be much easier to reconfigure as needs change, but I find the foam to be much better at holding the gear firm in place. Given the choice I'd probably opt for padding, but since I got mine for $50 or so off of someone who won it and never used it (Foam still intact), I didn't have the option. These are great either inside you get. You can always buy the other insert if you really want to switch the one you have.

1654. Maybe selling it with the lights. The part that sucks is that it weighs over 100lbs fully loaded.

Dividers. Once the foam is removed, there's no putting it back and it can degrade over time requiring replacement. One thing a lot of people do is use a clear coat on the foam to hold it together. I think that's what they use.

Guns- foam
Photography equipment- dividers

Below are a few photos of my new Pelican case that holds the following equipment:

1. Nikon D90 with 18-200mm lens attached
2. 2 YN560 speedlights and 1 Nikon SB-700 speedlight
3. Nikon 50mm f/1.8
4. Nikon 35mm f/1.8
5. Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro
6. Lens hoods (3)
7. Cowboy radio slaves (3)
8. Assorted filters and gray card
9. SD card case
10. Other stuff.

I wanted to get my D40 with attached 18-55mm lens in the case too, but you can see it will not fit. I am questioning if this case is large enough for my purposes or if it would be easier to just keep the D40 in another bag since I rarely use it. The case is super sturdy and I love the color!

I am also not sure this case is deep enough as you can see the speedlights sticking up out of the case by about 1". The case will close but I wonder if this will damage them over time. Any thoughts on that?

Bump for anybody who's interested. Does anybody have any thought on whether I can damage the contacts for the speedlights if the lid is too tightly closed on them? See how they are sticking out by about 1" or more? I may get a larger case for this reason.

Depending on how tight the lid is, I'd be more concerned about damaging the foot than the contacts.
