Welcome to the forum! Very good picture for your debut. I like it a lot. It's a very sharp image and composed really well. As for the *istD, there are a few users around these parts that have that camera. From what I've read and the looks of this picture, it's a good choice. It'll be good to see what else you've got to share.

Sorry I missed this earlier John, super pic composition. You might try spot metering on the bright spot the next time you shoot these. It might work better for the highlights.
