People taught (and teach) me, so I don't mind passing on the little I know to someone else wanting to learn. I would rather teach someone to do it right than ***** that they aren't doing what they should.

In all my time (ok its only 2 years but still I get about a bit) I have only met one person who was ademate about not sharing their methodology in how they worked in photography. I'm sure if I were more into people work I might meet a bit more resistance - a few more studio/wedding togs who want to hold onto their methods - but still for the greater part photographers are mostly fully willing to share what they know to others.

I also greatly agree with the sentiment of that quote - that it is far better to help and teach rather than insult and backstab a person. And often a new, fresh pair of eyes can see things from a new angle - you might teach you student and they in turn might teach you something too.

My point was you need some experience to photograph weddings. They bring out the good and bad in people. So yes they are very different than say photographing in the park.

I think that would be life experience more then anything. I do agree with you there, that people are challenging during weddings.

I prefer sports (Rodeo) photography because I can work on my own, where I want, when I want and how I want. I like to decide what angle to shoot from and what kind of shot to get. Weddings are very different for sure. You become the beck and call person. LOL!

I wish I had more time to do more weddings for so many reasons. The challenge, the artistic value, the rewards... However, I find weddings to be stressful - and super exhausting.

I still do believe it is about your attitude. If you go to the event saying 'this will be fun, challenging, and rewarding'...it will go better and show in your photos.
