18) This guy was sitting back in a corner against the wall, and when i pickup my camera and pointed it toward him(maybe he thought it was a tranquilizer gun or something.), he got up and started fast at me. I wont lie, even with the barrier i got a little scared, the way its setup, as you can see from the photo, this is a straight on with what looks like nothing inbetween me and him, because the level dips down, but if you didnt know it looks like only a 2 foot wall keeping him from you LOL.

sweet! it's #16 and #2 for me, great shots man.

[CherylL]

Very nice colors! My favorites are 2, 8, 10 & 16. #8 looks like he/she has a little top hat on.

yes, this zoo isn't great really, IMO the enclosures are way to small, that guy was sitting there banging has back against the wall behind him, kinda like a kid that was sent to his room. sad really.

Nice work, can't really pic a favorite they're all great!

[MiFleur]

These are all nice, but because it is more unusual, I like your alligator, refreshing image!
and the expression of the gorilla is hard to beat!

:meh: Oh man, now I feel like a jacka$$ for that comment. It is a poignant picture and I'm glad you shared it!

On a brighter note, your bird with the lashes send me off on a google search and I learned about rictal bristles.

"Rictal bristles project from the beak of many insect-eating birds, including flycatchers, nightjars and even the American Robin. They are believed to provide protection for the bird's eyes as it consumes its wriggly prey. The bristles may also provide tactile feedback, like the whiskers on a dog or cat." (All About Birds : Feather Structure)

Now I'm going to be looking for these on all the bird pics I see!
