Photo Mechanic

I am considering buying a used laptop, specs as follows:

HP EliteBook 2530p Notebook PC (Upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7)

2 GB Memory
120 GB HDD
Intel Dual Core L9400 1.86GHz
Windows 7 Ultimate installed (English Version but can be change to Japanese)
Microsoft Office 2007
Lightroom 3
Photomatix Pro3
CApture NX2 (For nikon Users)
Photoshop CS5

Am I right in assuming that Photo Mechanic would just install fine? First time I have bought a used computer. I don't currently know the system requirements for PM.

All the programs are on what the seller calls 'copy disks'. They are installed on the machine currently. Am I exposing myself to potential legal action by using this? The machine would be connected to the internet at some pont.​

'Copy disks' indicates pirated software to me.
