Photo Printer suggestions?

I started with an 8" HP and got some really nice photo's from it. Went to one of the little HP's to take in the vehicle with me and print on location. 8" only lasted about three years and gave up the ghost. Went to an HP 13" and it made photo's I liked but was very noisy. It too gave up within three years. While I had it the small HP went down on me and I replaced it with a Canon iP 100. Small 8" printer that I've printed with up to 8"x16". When the big one went south I got a Canon Pixma Pro 9000 MKII. Best thing I ever did. Just recently started having problems with it but had it about 10 yrs. Replaced it with the Pixma Pro 200. Got it on sale from B&H for $399. Printing great photo's! Biggest I've done on 13" printer has been 12"x24" and really like them. Limited experience with any other printer's and good as my Canon's have been I'm not even gonna try out any other's! I think, if I remember right that B&H has the Canon 200 normally for right at $500. I might add that I've also switched over to Ink Technologies ink and happy with it so far. Been using it a number of months. Had tried another, don't recall the brand, and didn't care for it. Big change in price. Ink Technologies cartridge for 9000 MKII printer is $5 and Canon same size cartridge is $18! Also switched my iP 100 over to In Technologies ink, very happy with it Custom Packaging Printers.

I have a nephew that use's an Epson 24" printer but I never will, way out of my price range and does a lot more than I need.

Printers here in Oz are a crazy deal. It's more economical to buy a new printer than replace low ink cartridges. Awful wastage.
Is it the same elsewhere? Or is it just us who are being ripped off?

Same here in the USA. That is why we went with a color laser printer for daily use. We replace cartridges maybe every six to nine months, instead of once a month, and the cost of the carts is about the same.

If you're considering a Brother printer or having issues, it’s worth checking out real user experiences at https://brother.pissedconsumer.com/review.html before making a decision. I looked it up on the internet and seems what I'd found is that printing a photo take's $.04 ink per sq inch of picture. No idea how accurate that is but all I could find. Best thing I found was after market ink that works for far less than OEM ink. My Canon inks were running me $18 each. Same ink with after market was $5 per cartridge. That is a huge difference! Tried a few different inks and wasn't happy with most of them till I found, Ink Technologies ink., Inktechnologies.com.Have had very limited problems with them and my problems I've had were fixed right away! As for the photo's, no a complaint one so far, been over a year now using them. before finding them I'd have said stick to OEM ink! Cost more but made to work in your printer. Might be true with some after market also. When I went to Ink Technologies I ordered a new full set, didn't want two different inks interfering with each other. I think that was the only way to figure out what they would do. Another thing is I'm calling Ink Technologies the best but that is just my opinion. Truth is they worked for me in a way that satisfies me so In my opinion they are the best. I have neither the time or money to check out every company. I'm pretty sure there are other company's as good, ya just have to find them and best way to do that is try different company's till you, YOU, are satisfied. One person's best is another person's junk!
