I recently discovered a flaw in my thinking about printers. I have a 13" canon and a very small 8" Canon Pixma iP100. It iP100 is really transportable and I can do up to 8x16" prints on the seat of my pickup! Can't do that with a 13" printer. But then my 13" is supposed to do up to something like 13x39. My old Canon Pixma pro 9000 XZ finally gave up the ghost on me and I got another 13" Canon. Shortly after that I got to thinking I'd really like to have a 17" printer. 24" simply to big and no roominthe house for it. But the 17" will do everything my other two will do and more! Recently started selling some photo's and the 13" might actually pay for itself which indicates to me so would the 17" and allow me to make bigger photo's. Knocks the 13" printer out but not the 8", being portable as it is, is a big plus! I'm thinking most people get a printer and get an all in one printer. Only thing might be wrong with that is they simply aren't as portable as my iP100. Had a pro photographer come to my 50th high school graduation and he did bring a 13" printer. Heavy and took up quite a bit of room, but, what I noticed was he didn't print anything for us I could not have done on my iP100!

I'm thinking now to cover the bases from 13' or 17" what you really need it a good small 8" portable printer. First time I used a protable, I was delivering RV's for a living. Got myself a small 4x6 HP printer and did photo's on the front seat of my pickup. Problem was the size it could put out, 4x6 isn't very big and the iP100 simply isn't that much bigger than that 4x6 was. Also have a energy source up to something like 450 wats and plugs into my cigar lighter and charges my battery's and probably run the printer off of it! Haven't tried running the 8" printer but it did run my 4x6 printer. even charges my camera battery's. One huge problem for me here. Canon no longer makes the iP100 should I need to replace it!
