Back in the 70's I moonlighted doing forensic photography for the County Sheriff's Office, and Medical Procedure Documentation for some malpractice attorneys. Neither was for the squeamish, but it was never dull. Every thing from murder scenes, to the random dead body (those where bad especially in the summer), to surgical procedures, I provided evidence photos, and occasional got called to testify. Even back then the pay was pretty good. I'm surprised at the number of people who "want" to choose photography as a career path then beat their heads against the wall trying to eek out a living shooting portraits, and though the shooting conditions weren't always the most pleasant, I never had one client complain that my images made them look fat. LOL All the talk about AI now replacing photographers, well here's a field were it won't be happening anytime soon. The average pay across the US is in the mid 50K range, like everything else the less certifications/skills the lower the pay, and the more you have the higher the pay.
