The VOLS works great. Auto height adjustments, follows you around automatically and the better models adjust to your needs before you make the vocal changes yourself.

VOLS = Voice Operated Light Stand = your assistant or someone nearby in the wrong place and time.

that has to be one of the goofiest looking things i've seen in a while, but it probably works pretty good for the purpose it's intended for

I was pointing it out as something that can raise the flash even higher than the stroboframe pro (no umbrella). It can't be any more cumbersome than dragging an "IV" lightstand around the reception floor.
