Photography props.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this. If not please move it mods.

I was reading Understanding Photography by Bryan Peterson, soon to read Exposure.

In it he talks about having an assistant hold up a piece of cloth to make a background for some shots.

I was wondering if there was anything any of you carry around to help in building a photo, I was thinking about pieces of fabric for a background, some little figurines (Adventures with Garfield gave me that idea) a small reflector of sorts...

Anything anyone would add to that?

I don't carry props, but I keep some strobist type lighting and other grip in the car.

ah, gotcha, i thought you meant as part of a backdrop setup, not the subject itself.
