photoshop elements

Hello,

I just upgraded to Elements 5.0 from Photoshop7.0 and Elements 2.0. I am finding this new program cumbersome and sloooooooow. Any advice on how I can speed it up. I deleted the two old programs before I installed this one. I also cleaned my C drive and defraged.

I am loading photos with a card reader, this portion of the program is a huge improvement and super fast. The editing and browsing is the bummer part.

Moving the scratch disk to another physical drive can help, but the best thing you can do is just get a better computer. What are the specs of your current machine? Photoshop is a very demanding program.
