Have you tried setting ALL your folders to the same settings in Window XP?

Open a folder and arrange it how you would like it ('details' in your case I assume). Go to 'Tools' drop-down menu, select 'Folder Options' select the 'View' tab and click 'apply to all folders' button. Restart photoshop and see if it works.

I've only got photoshop on macs here at work so can't test it for you.

I have the same problem,I change it to thumb nails but when i leave that screen then come back its back to where it started.I dont think you can change it.maybe its just an over looked problem in the software.

I think I figured it out...I didn't have 'remember folder's view setting' clicked, in windows explorer. I'll see if that works.
