Here is the original. It's fairly soft...that's why I tried the radical photoshopping. It was taken at the Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island.

I still feel it's missing something but I can't nail it down. Too soft or too much noise. I had a copy with a border/frame somewhere...I though it helped the overall effect. I'll try to dig it up.
