Perfect to me. Although I look at picture with critical sense, I don't usually force myself to find something wrong in a picture, especially if it touches something inside. This is perfect composition, good light, wonderful subject. Made me smile. Definitely great shot.

Thanks, Benjo. This one keeps growing on me and the more I look at it the happier I am with how it turned out. The lighting was quite challenging here with the sun low in the sky and my needing to shoot more or less in that direction to get the shot - not quite into the sun, but not far off either.

From what I see, I think your main risk was a big flare coming from the upper-left corner of the frame. Exposition was not basic, but not difficult, 'cause you had the water reflecting almost the same degree of light of the sky. So...once correctly exposed the sky, you got the correct exposition.

Yes, upper left is where the sun was, just edging above a group of trees.

I don't normally shoot in raw (preferring JPEG) but recently there has been quite a bit of discussion on TPF over whether raw or JPEG is the way to go, so I thought I'd try raw for a little while. The extra room for manoeuvre in post that this gave me was very welcome when working on this photo.

I don't want to be off topic. I used to shoot in raw until I got my fuji. Then jpg were so good I wasn't able to process the raw better than the camera. Now all the time I used to spend on lightroom, I spend it shooting.
