Picture editing

I'm new to these forums, and really just need some assistance/guidance on some photo editing. Is there any way you can cut and paste pictures together? Basically what I mean is that I have a bunch of pictures where a person always has there eyes shut. As crazy as this sounds, is there any way to edit the pictures by using pictures were their eyes are open? Cutting and pasting two pictures into one? This might not make any sense, but I don't know how to better explain myself. Thank you in advance!

Yes this is possible and with a bit of help it isn't actually that hard.
