Picture if my daughter looking for CC

I'm very new here and with digital photography. I took a few portrait shots of my daughter just to try out low light indoor situation. I added light with a lamp but overall lighting in my apartment is pretty terrible. Either way I was just trying to experiment with lighting.
I liked how this shot came out with the shadows.

For what you used, I think you did a great job.

For a studio shot, there are problems all over the place.

But I don't think this is a kind of photo that really matters about technicalities.

Thank you! I def have endless room to improve but considering how new I am to this I was fairly pleased.

If you were to critique the problems what could I do to improve?

The lighting is harsh, causing strong shadows. Try and soften though the light up.

Also the white balance seems a bit warm, probably caused from the lamp?

There is the main light in the ceiling as well as the lamp. Both of which are energy efficient bulbs and not very helpful at all.

Changing my settings now.

I agree. I didn't notice until I was processing it, next time I need to focus more on the eyes.

This was going to be my effort - I made same two adjustments as Designer, although seems I pushed the temp down a little cooler. Would be interested to know if you think I went too far - trying to learn.

Thank you for the edit! I was trying to adjust everything and keep it looking not over done after seeing your edit I can see I didn't take it far enough!

I've only used Lightroom twice before editing this picture so I am learning something new literally by the minute it seems.

In total from about 20-30 pictures there were 3 I chose to PP as I thought they came out the best. Here are the other 2. Shadows were less severe and I believe the focusing was a little better as well.
