Pipevine Swallowtail

It was very windy, and the flowers are on very long stems, so it was swaying too and fro, but I still got it. Probably should have upped the shutter to 1/1250 and the aperture to 11. The flower is a Rocky Mountain Bee Plant.

The second and fourth look sharpest, and are nice, especially #2 IMO.

Thanks! Yep, next opportunity that presents itself I'll bump the camera to f/11 and 1/1250 or 1/1600. It was bright enough, but I was so focused on getting this critter, because I don't see them often in the yard.

Thank you! The are very uncommon in my yard, but a lot of them down by the lake, just not where I can get at them. I try to avoid tromping through knee high grass in mid-Summer.

Shutter speed won't help with focus. Shooting with motion is tough! Try shooting in burst mode in the hopes of getting one or two sharp.
