Playing around with my 50mm.... 3 photos to share

Lent my workhorse 17-55mm 2.8, along with both of my 600's to a friend to shoot a wedding. So decided to play around with my seldom used 50mm and natural lighting....

Wow on the first shot! i really think it's just outstanding, almost a perfect mix between foreground and background colors, the contrast is so nice and overall i have never seen such beautiful eyes in a dog. This really inspired me to take my 50mm out and take some shots.

What lens quality you used? Is that an "L" lens?

Loving #1. The colors of the dog with the sharp focus on the right eye really catches me. #2 doesn't really do anything for me but I can't put my finger on it, but you did nail the focus on your daughters eyes. And #3 is just plain cute.

His signature says he rolls with a D90 and the title says 50mm. The 50mm isn't an L lens. If you want to see the exif which shows camera, lens, ISO, aperture used etc. just download the photo and load it into this exif reader it will give you all the info. Jeffrey's Exif viewer

haha, when I first read this I thought that the 600's you were referring to were lenses. I couldn't figure out why you would have 2, why you would lend them both out, or why he would want them for a wedding, but then I read your signature and it all made sense. They are great pictures, I still gotta get myself a 50.

I'm going to chime in with everyone else here and likely echo much of what's been said. The first one of the dog is just gorgeous! You caught such a wonderful expression and yes, the eyes are beautiful. And the other two with your daughter are so precious. Her expression in the second one with the big hug for Ty is beyond cute. That he reciprocated with a kiss in the third is perfect. I'm guessing the color version of that one is great as well since these colors are all working so well together. Really nice work!
