Playing around with photoshop ... and christmas photos

I just got photoshop, and was wondering how hard it is to use it ... what are the main features I should try out? Is there a tutorial for dodging and burning?

I noticed as well that when I use photoshop, the image retains its quality after editing .. .vs. photobucket where the file reduces by x10 in size.

Apart from that, I took some random shots around the house. I tried using the cropping feature and this is what I got ... good edit or ..? C&C too would be great!

photoshop is pretty easy for basic stuff(i took desktop publixhing last semester) and it was easy to learn... as for tutorials check youtube and there are TONS of tutorial sites out there you just gotta search for them...

as for the photo i feel like it has alot going on
other than that i like it...
