I really like these photos! The contrast of the black and the white is very good!!

I like to use the Hue/Sat layer blend mode-color method as well.

I also just downloaded a B&W conversion PS plug-in that is pretty neat. There are also a few other good (& free) plug-ins here http://www.photo-plugins.com/Plugins/Plugins/
