There is a lot of empty space IMO. I think it would be more appealing with a much tighter crop and move the light cord out of the way. Again though, it's all a mater of opinion.

Don't take it with a point and shoot camera. Like theeph posted - it's dusty.. and the blurring is obvious and "cheap" looking rather than real "bokeh" created by a dslr with a wide aperture. Not sure what else you were trying to go for here..

You completely forgot the simplify part of this. The wires are killing you. Even with a point and shoot you can control the composition and you aren't doing that.
THe editing is really bad (SORRY!!!) Your fake blur isn't working for you. You need to learn to control that with the camera.
What are you shooting with?

You keep that ball in total darkness and see how things come out
