Hello all, I am trying to get a circular 58mm polarizer filter for my Canon 40D, any ideas or experience on these 3 that I found on amazon? this is within my budget.
Thanks.
1.Tiffen 58MM Circular Polarizer Glass Filter
Buy new: $37.95

3.Cokin C16458 Filter, Screw-in, 58MM, Circ. Polari
Buy new: $29.95
1 new from $29.95
1 used from $30.00

I can only advise you on the tiffen, since that is what I use. It does its job, and has lasted 4 years of wear and tear inside of my camera bag. Both of the companies you listed are reputable, so I think you'll be fine either way.

find a local camera store, go in and test both on your camera with your lens.

then take the photos home and on your computer compare the differences.

Don't be surprised that they don't look alike.

Buy the one that gives the "look" you desire, not the price point, especially since your not talking about one that cost $250

I just ordered a Tiffen 58mm for 10 bucks from keh.com. Can't speak for the quality as it hasn't arrived yet. But it was only 10.00
