Policy on discussing illegal activites?

Discussing pirated software of forums drags the wrong kind of attention and usually gets the owner in trouble, hence most forums try to steer away from this ordeal.

I don't think a discussion about piracy is a problem, but promoting piracy would be. The examples the OP gave seem more like promoting piracy.

Now we gotta hope for Village's sake, that discussing discussions about piracy doesn't result in a ban...

For the record, I don't use any pirated software. I run Linux on my computers, and there are a ton of FREE programs out there. Pretty much anything you could want to do, there is a free program that can do it.

I only have one piece of software on my computer that actually cost me money (printer drivers). Everything else is (legally) free.

With all of the free options, I never even considered stealing software... Yes, PS is nice. Yes, it's more than I can afford at the moment. No, it does not fulfill a need that free software cannot (for me).

For virtually every app out there, there is a free version that is at least 'almost as good'. Sometimes just as good, or better.

Why steal it when they're giving it away for free?
