#1. Feels like you bumped up the contrast way too much in post-processing. The background is completely washed out. Would be a more effective photo if we had some idea of what had his attention out of frame.

#2. Boring scene...they've got shovels so we know it's not a precursor to any action. But I'd crop the red goal or whatever that is from the bottom. And crop as close as possible on the right to the dude in the foreground.
