portable storage devices

I havent posted in a looong time and still a complete amateur. But Im planning a trip to morocco and wanted to get one of those portable storage devices. Which one do you use? And a friend suggested I buy the iPod camera connector. Anybody use this? And this may be a silly question but does it transfer raw images? THANKS

I use an X Drive 40 gigabyte, you can't view the images on it, but it does transfer everthing on the card. It's rechargable through the USB connection or via AC adapter.
