Good evening Photo Forum members, My name is Matt. I was online looking for popular forums to join to enhance my work and progress more and I came across this forum. I have been shooting for 2 months and am still learning the ins and outs of all of this but here is one of my photos from today. Thanks for viewing!

Hi, Matt, Welcome!

Unfortunately, this shot has some issues.

The model's pose is way too straight-on and rigid, which is compounded by her chin-down countenance.

The lighting is uneven in the "wrong" way, meaning her midriff and camisole are well-lighted, but her face is under lit.

The background has some distracting elements, notably the brighter area upper right, and the sill line cutting through the frame.

The light seem to be coming from below her, which is a bit offputting. I'd try a black and white conversion on this one.

I would just bring it in way tighter and focus on the death stare from her eyes and get rid of the background and the bright white top.
