i actually really like this shot a lot. its not your usual snapshot of a kid. love the composition and look at those eyes! great shot :thumbup:

I also don't really notice the heavy flash. I really like this photo. Those eyes are incredible. It would be tough to achieve that look in the eyes without quite alot of flash.

I realize that it was over flashed. Normally I don't use the flash; I don't own a separate flash yet.
In this case I experimented with the fixed flash on the camera, even though there was enough light in the room.
I kind of liked the result, despite the fact it was over flashed and that the chin and top of the head are not in the picture. :blushing:

As many have said, it seems a bit blown out..but it might be OK for this photo. The crop job is perfect too...if your intent is to bring out the eyes. They are emphasized very well in this photo.
