Good Evening and Happy Easter to everyone. My name is Brian and I have been lurking and lerning from all of you fine folks. So a big heart felt thank you to all of you !!! I decided to post a couple of Portraits that I have shot recently to get your take on them.....I can handle it so let me have it.....I know that they are far from perfect, and have some weird lighting....Thank you in advance for yo ur comments.

Really wish she'd worn a different colored shirt, that looks like some sort of bizarre pregnancy photo. The top one scares me.ale:

#1... skin is way overprocessed... did you use Portrait Professional, by chance? Beautiful eyes.. lighting is very dramatic.. maybe too much so, since there are shadows in the wrong places like under her lips, and around her eyes. Way too tightly framed for my tastes. A little too contrasty.. and has some blown highlights also.

#2.. I started to comment right after you posted these.. but didn't, because I got the same strange Pregnancy Vibe that LouR mentions... not good. You are also aware that classic HORROR lighting (you know.. as in Bela Lugosi?) is from underneath?

I suspect she's thinking into the ball "give me fill light, towards my face" (but i like these thats just CnC)

Brian, I like these - very different from a lot I see on here. Yea, they're lit from below but that's what makes them different. I think the skin looks good, the eyes are in focus. The catch light in the bottom of the eyes gives it a very interesting feel. Not a criticism but my own personal taste - I think it might look better with a different color shirt as it seems to blend in too much with the ball. Also, I would prefer the background be a little out of focus. But very original and interesting. Thanks for posting!
