What's new

I normally dislike the type of editing you've done, but this particular image looks quite good the way it's been 'shopped. The smoke from the burn-out looks really good. The truck looks good too. And the dry hills, sparsely populated with trees in the background--very 'California'. Me likey!

I'm enjoying all the comments, positive and negative. At least it is invoking some emotion either way :) thank you.

I'm not a fan at all, sorry! :-P

Oddly whilst I still hold to the "rule" of having empty/moving space in the direction of suggested motion in a photo - this one I think might break that rule. Or rather, depending how its viewed, the perceived direction of the photo shifts. By that I mean whilst we all know the car is moving toward the right side of the shot the cloud (which the edit makes far more a part of the attention of the viewer) is heading the other way - its direction is back, back into the left where we do have room to move.

I agree here totally. I also think that I get the feeling that the truck is going to hurdle at me at any moment. The smoking tires, the fact that without a lot of room on the left I get the impression motion is coming towards me. Also being quite a car buff I instinctively understand the resulting action of a burnout. Well done, the energy in the final rendering is quite good.

I think it fits Truckin' Magazine. I would like to see that in the magazine.

You and me both. The edit was presented to them and received favorably but they didn't request the file :( It sure would be nice to get a little published credit ;)

I don't love it but I don't hate it either. I did notice one thing though. On the left side of the original image (in the sky) is a lens spot of some sort. Maybe it should have been cloned out in the edit. Other than that, good job.

I like the edit. The smoke is awesome! I am not a fan of the original as it does not look sharp and light is low. It is probably due to the smoke.

You really need to see it large to get the full effect :D I made it my desktop at work.
