PP'ed Low Light 50mm Shots - CC Plz!

Hey guys, last night was NJIT Day and my fraternity had a booth at the evening carnival. I took some shots but struggled after dark. I tried to salvage some of the pictures in photoshop. How did I do with the following? Did I go too far on some? Any thoughts or comments are welcomed.

Not too sure why the JPEGs came out darker then they looked when editing in photoshop. Sorry for the longish post but just looking for some feedback on how to improve my PP'ing skills. Thanks in advance,

Did you shoot these in RAW or JPG? Which shots were the original, the 1st one or the 2nd ones?
