Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hey there guys! I am going to start doing senior pictures for the kids at my school. I was going to get mine done with a local photographer...but then looked at his portfolio, and I quickly changed my mind and looked more into his website. He is charging people $165 for very badly done pictures. Some kids at my school actually had him do theirs for them. Anywho, I decided to just charge 25 bucks so the kids that cant shell out 165 can get some decent quality pictures to remember their high school years. Ive been going out pretty much everyday this week practicing. Ive been struggling with the weather, and also finding people to practice with but this is My shoot from yesterday.

C&C would be much appreciated!

Tear em' up!

I like the lighting on the first one. On the second one her face is a bit underexposed, probably because of that sun coming in from the upper left. Is there a way you can use PP to fill in those dark areas so we can see her face better? Also on the second one the grass being focused on a bit in the background is distracting-perhaps blurring that a bit more.

I think it's nice you are doing this for them! Good luck with the weather and the rest of the shoots!

I think you ought to triple your price.

it looks like the white balance is off in #1. The pose isn't half bad, but the light is an issue.
If at all possible, get out of direct sunlight, and into open shade. Use supplimental light - reflected or strobed.

Fill flash was needed in #2.

You don't mention if his $165 includes any product, like a proof book or prints.

What will you be giving for $25? Unedited photos on a CD?

Can you find someone to snap your picture and call them senior portraits for $25 or $50? Sure you can. Everyone with a camera and Facebook page now days is what I call a "fauxtographer."

Kmh- for the 25$ I'll give them a cd of all the edited shots, they can get the prints. The money is simply for gas since I drive a truck. As for the advice, thank you lots, I'm gonna practice for another week or so, so more pictures will be soon.
