I bought some lights last year, finally getting around to really trying to use them, any suggestions?

i'm on my work monitor, which is horrible. but these appear to be REALLY underexposed. I think #1 could be really cute with some post work.

Yup, needs better lighting for sure. It appears you had the flash off to the right, but there should have been a reflector, or perhaps another light in a softbox above her.

Just my opinion, but this outfit needs her to be awake and standing (with help of course). I think it would not spoil the picture to have mom's hands in the frame to hold her up. If you want to do the sleeping baby pose, have her wearing a cute sleeper, not a "warfare dress".

Whats with the blue and brown background? If she is laying on a blue blanket, either have someone hold it up or drape it upward behind her- or put her on the brown one. The different backgrounds is very distracting.

Thanks for all the comments. Yes, it is continous lighting. Like I said, I bought them last year. I tried them once then, didn't like results, and stored them away. Trying again. Still not liking them.
I'll try again with same background, I didn't want a floating baby is why I used different colors.
Oh, and I wanted her sleeping in her camo - family joke.

okay for one, adorable baby girl! agree with the poor lighting statements. and theres too many different colors being used like her outfit, the blanket the backdrop. they clash just my opinion of course

Killed a bit of yellow (continous lights! Yuck!) and added just a smidge of red and magenta. And lightened it up, of course!

Wow, that looks sooo much better, cgipson!
I was going to try to reshoot this weekend, but my husband decided he felt like tackling a remodeling job on our family room that we've been talking about, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to set things back up.
