I've recently started shooting more night portraits. My camera is pretty decent at night, although to help keep the ISO down it does pay to try and utilise all available light sources.

To this end I spent a bit of time loitering outside this shop window. I knew the orange glow would set the scene, so just needed somebody to shoot. Callum walked past and cheekily asked whether I was having any luck taking pictures of the shop window. I couldn't let this brief interaction pass by, so I told him that I was having no luck, and asked whether he would let me take his portrait.

I am very pleased that Callum agreed, as fortuitously he was wearing blue which I knew would work perfectly against the orange glow of the shop. I feel that this toning really enhances the final portrait.

Great tonal exposure as mentioned already, wonderful shot. If i critiqued only one thing it would be the spots on both sides distracting me a touch. Dont have to completely remove them but maybe decrease the highlights a bit on them so they are a less able to grab your attention.
