the first photo makes me think of the religious icon: Yeshua Ben Joseph (aka. Jesus Christ)

I picture him more as Prince Ali from One Thousand and One Nights/ Aladdin.

Spent the first 2 decades of my adulthood recovering from religion.

Most of my family is very religious. I don't see them often, as I happen to be gay, which means they all seem to believe I'm going to this imaginary place called hell. They stick their noses up at me and act like I need salvation, while I found a new family. I despise religion in any form.

Thanks! I've actually had multiple authors approach me to use my photos for their book covers, but I always decline because I don't know how to do pricing on that sort of thing and the authors always seem to be wanting to pay very little for the photos.

I know people that have sold for book covers, and they say pricing is really hard. Plus like you said most of those that approach you are most likely indie writers, which is great! But they normally only a hundred bucks or so to spend, and that just isn't near enough for your caliber of work.
You could make up a port of photos that you know will never go to an gallary, and aren't client shots, and send them to publishers. You may not make a lot on them but it will give you a little extra from those photos that you are just sitting in your computer doing nothing anyway.
I don't know much about this, it's just an idea.

In the first set when you took these photos in sunshine how did control the contrast? In my shoots there always too much bright with too much shadow on the model's face. How could you get this soft light?
